ALBANY – More than $48 million in federal low income housing tax credits and subsidies is available, statewide, to help construct or rehabilitate housing for working families, senior citizens and people with disabilities.

About $7.5 million of that money will go to several projects in the lower Hudson Valley, including three projects in Westchester, two each in Dutchess and Ulster counties, and one project in Rockland.  A total of 438 housing units will become available in that area.

  • Dutchess:  Livingston Arms, $365,701, 34 units
  • Dutchess: Kearney Realty & Development Group, Inc.  $1.331,529,  74 units
  • Rockland:  Rockland Housing Action Coalition, Inc.  $1.430,000,  66 units
  • Ulster:  Milton Harvest LLC,  $644,743,  42 units
  • Westchester:  Asburton Avenue I, LP,  $1,078,000,  49 units
  • Westchester:  Housing Action Council, Inc.  $1,427,857,  73 units
  • Westchester:  Titus Investors LLC,  $899,676,  43 units

“Housing is a necessity and this money will go toward providing higher standards of living for more than 2,000 New York families”, said U.S. Rep. Eliot Engel.  “I am especially grateful for the money going to the Rockland County Action Coalition.”

U.S. Senator Charles Schumer said “In these difficult economic times, it is critical that we provide safe and affordable housing for the most vulnerable”.
