Town of Poughkeepsie police respond to Sunday night shooting

TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – Several Town of Poughkeepsie police units responded to reports of a Manchester Road shooting on Sunday night.  The nighttime violence followed a morning shooting at a hotel that resulted in a death.

On Sunday evening at approximately 9:20 p.m., town police responded to the area of 38 Manchester Road for a report of a shooting in the backyard of the address.

Responding officers communicated that the suspect, who may have been wounded, fled the area and headed south towards Raymond Avenue in Arlington.  No additional information regarding victims was provided by the police.

At 9:31 p.m. another officer, describing the suspect as a black man wearing shorts and a red hoodie, was briefly observed on Manchester Road in the vicinity of the Gulf gas station.
