POUGHKEEPSIE – Vassar College this academic year will see 2,550 students attending the Town of Poughkeepsie school.

Move-in day Tuesday saw over 700 new students welcome to the campus by upper-class members, who held signs and shouted greetings.

College President Dr. Elizabeth Bradley even got into the action.

“I had been there at 9 a.m. and I said, ‘come on people, you could do more than that. I think you ought to come up with a dance and I will be back at 10 o’clock when you come up with your dance’,” she recounted to Mid-Hudson News. “So, when I got down there, they were practicing and I said, ‘hey, I think I can do that dance. Show me’,” and that’s what you saw on tape.”

During the height of COVID-19, Dr. Bradley, who majored in public health, said the campus stayed open. Now, she said the college is returning back to a more normal environment.
